Connect Gmail or another email provider

Where to find it

In the Admin Console, open SMTP Settings under General. Email providers lists the ways your organisation can send email. The note under each connected provider shows which one is actually used for outbound email.

Connect Gmail

  1. Click Connect on Gmail.
  2. Sign in with your Google account and allow access. Gmail sends through Google sign-in and the Gmail API, not classic SMTP details.
  3. The card shows Connected and a note that outbound email uses Gmail.

Click Edit to change the connection, or Disconnect to stop using it.

Other providers

  • Amazon SES – send transactional and marketing email through Amazon Simple Email Service.
  • SendGrid – send transactional email with the SendGrid API.
  • Mailgun – send transactional email through Mailgun using your domain and API key.
  • Custom email domains – verify your own domain so email can come from the organisation email in General Details.

Outlook and Microsoft 365 (MS Exchange) is coming soon. Use Gmail or a custom email domain for now.
